I am the editor of Manchester World and have been running the site since July 2023 as we tell the extraordinary stories of ordinary Mancs. In a previous life I was a sports writer and editor around Greater Manchester and the North West - and am known to still turn my hand to football and boxing, this is Manchester after all. I was born in Lancaster and because we couldn’t agree on a football team my dad took me to watch county and international cricket at Old Trafford growing up. I’m still going when I can, whether it’s cricket or rock bands that are the centre of attention. I attended first the University of Leeds, studying languages, before getting to grips with journalism during a year close to home at the University of Central Lancashire. I’ve worked for a host of titles in the region including the Bolton News, Lancashire Telegraph, Lancashire Post, Blackpool Gazette, Oldham Times and Bury Times.
