Burnley confirm USA pre-season tour and Espanyol Turf Moor friendly

Clarets release details for 2026/27 pre-season tour

Burnley will tour the United States of America and take on their ‘sister’ club Espanyol as part of their pre-season preparations.

The Clarets will face three sides across the pond in July as they gear up for the 2026/27 campaign back in the Championship.

FC Cincinnati will provide the opposition at their TQL Stadium on Friday, July 10, with kick-off set for 7.30pm Eastern Daylight Time (which is five hours behind UK time).

The Clarets will then move north east for a clash with Columbus Crew at ScottsMiracle-Gro Stadium on Sunday, July 12 at 4pm EDT.

Their US tour will culminate with a game against Real Salt Lake at America First Field on Wednesday, July 15, 8pm MDT.

Burnley investor and former NFL star JJ Watt said of the schedule: “I’m very excited to welcome the Clarets to America for our pre-season tour this summer and I am equally excited for football fans here in the US to get a chance to see our historic club up close and personal.”

The Clarets will then host Espanyol at Turf Moor on Wednesday, July 29, kick off 7.45pm.

Tickets for the fixture will go on sale on Friday, June 5.

Ticket details for the US games are as follows:

FC Cincinnati on sale Monday, June 8

Columbus Crew on sale Wednesday, June 3

Real Salt Lake on sale Friday, June 12

Further details about the trip will be confirmed in due course.

Burnley’s competitive action will get underway across the weekend of August 7-9 with a Carabao Cup first round tie.

The first round of the Championship season will follow the next weekend of August 14-16.

League fixtures will be released at 12 noon on Thursday, June 25.

The Clarets are currently without a manager following the departure of Scott Parker by mutual consent back in April.

It followed another dismal campaign in the Premier League, where Burnley finished in 19th place on just 22 points - a club record low in the three-point-for-a-win era.

The new man at the helm will be tasked with guiding the club back to the top flight at the first attempt, just as both Vincent Kompany and Parker managed.
