Clitheroe Advertiser reader's letter: 'Tour de France only reason for Whalley Road resurfacing'
I wonder who picked up on the latest nonsense spouted from our County Councillor Warren Goldsworthy, in a very short article about a month ago?
It was highlighting the long awaited resurfacing of Whalley Road (Clitheroe) which, lets be honest, has needed to be done for the last decade. It would be interesting to find out just how many times Lancashire County Council and their subcontractors have been to blob their porridge mixture in and how much money has been wasted.

He said: “Whalley Road is one of the main routes in and out of Clitheroe so keeping it in good order is essential.”
Have you been in a box for the last decade or more, Warren? It's 'essential' yet the only reason this road has been brought back up to standard is because of a certain bike race next year. Stop spouting rubbish and admit it.
Without the Tour de France, Whalley Road would still resemble a piece of Jarslberg. Then we have the bit in the speech to show how just amazing LCC are because prior to this, they sorted the drains out. Er, isn't this just common sense? Perhaps the uncontactable and rude statue of a county councillor can for once admit this and then answer his phone and emails, which he is paid to do.
