Six days after a historic win against Premier League champions Liverpool at Anfield, the Clarets came from behind to see off Aston Villa.

Burnley had only beaten Villa once in their previous nine competitive fixtures - when Danny Ings scored the winner at Villa Park on the final day of the 2014/15 campaign.

But they came out on top in a five-goal thriller at Turf Moor to move clear of the bottom three.

Ollie Watkins put Villa ahead after a dominant first half display, but captain Ben Mee restored parity early in the second half.

Jack Grealish helped the visitors get their noses back in front, only for Dwight McNeil to score his first goal of the season to make it 2-2 in the 76th minute.

Chris Wood then scored the winner for the hosts three minutes later with a wonderful header from McNeil's delivery.
