Latest next Burnley manager odds amid 'not interested' Rob Edwards claim
Latest bookies’ odds for Burnley manager position
Rob Edwards has drifted down the bookies’ odds for Burnley’s head coach vacancy following reports he’s pulled out of talks.
It had been reported by multiple sources that the former Wolves boss was due to be interviewed for the newly-created Turf Moor position.
It comes after Nicky Hayen was sacked on Saturday evening shortly after Burnley’s 4-1 defeat to Lincoln City.
It leaves the Clarets rooted inside the Championship’s relegation zone, having won just one of their first 12 games of the season.
Edwards had been installed as the bookies’ favourite early on, but has since drifted down the odds since news emerged that he has decided not to pursue the job.
The ex-Middlesbrough and Luton Town boss also reportedly knocked back an approach during the summer as the Clarets hunted Scott Parker’s successor, before eventually settling on Hayen.
Carlos Corberan now tops the list, despite further reports suggesting the Spaniard is not interested in the role and is holding out for a Premier League gig.
It had been suggested that the former West Brom chief was holding talks with Burnley on Monday, but that’s since been knocked back.
Another as yet unnamed coach, based abroad, is also said to be in the running.
The likes of Steven Gerrard, Robbie Keane, Burnley’s former assistant Craig Bellamy, ex-boss Parker and Steve Cooper also feature in the betting.
The club’s new chief football officer Diego Lopez will be involved in the search following his appointment on Monday.
