Steve Rumbelow will be a hard act to follow

In many ways the decision by Burnley Council chief executive Steve Rumbelow to move to pastures new raises similar issues.

It is no understatement to say that under his tenure Burnley has been revitalised and regenerated.

His willingness to work with Burnley’s business sector helped forge a partnership that has become the envy of towns and cities across the country.

His modern, bigger picture, partnership approach may have met with mutterings by some Town Hall dinosaurs, but the proof was in the budding when Burnley was named Most Enterprising Area in the UK in 2013.

Burnley will miss him.
