Scott Parker’s side enter into 2026 off the back of a ten-game winless streak, which leaves them 19th in the table and six points adrift of safety.
But the year has also brought some incredible highs, with the Clarets securing their place back in the Premier League with yet another automatic promotion from the Championship.
The Clarets finished the season 33 games unbeaten, conceding just 16 goals on their way to a 100-point finish.

In fact, they would have lifted the Championship title if it wasn’t for Leeds United’s dramatic late winner at Plymouth on the final day back in May.

5. QPR 0-5 Burnley, April 26
Now that promotion had been secured, the shackles well and truly came off as the Clarets put QPR to the sword with a scintillating display at Loftus Road. Parker’s side served up some of their best football of the season, as Zian Flemming and Jeremy Sarmiento both bragged braces after Josh Cullen had opened the scoring as the Clarets made it a remarkable 32 league games unbeaten. Not only that, Burnley also matched the all-time English league record for clean sheets with their 30th of the campaign, matching Port Vale’s record in 1953/54. 6. Burnley 3-1 Millwall, May 3
On the face of it, this might seem like a bit of a bizarre choice given it’s the day where Burnley missed out on the Championship title on goal difference, following Leeds United’s cruel stoppage-time winner at Plymouth. There was a slightly deflated mood at the full-time whistle, as news of Leeds’ goal filtered through, but the Clarets had done their job and there was still plenty to celebrate, with promotion already sealed with a 100-point finish. And let’s be honest, no-one will be able to forget this day in a hurry following the surreal pitchside scenes when Natasha Bedingfield turned up by surprise to perform Unwritten. 7. Burnley 2-0 Sunderland, August 23
Despite it only being the second game of the Premier League season, fresh from the opening day 3-0 defeat at Tottenham and with a difficult fixture list ahead, the pressure was on Burnley to record three points in their first home game. Josh Cullen got the Clarets up and running with the opener just after half-time, but the Black Cats piled on the pressure afterwards, pressure that was only relieved towards the end as Jaidon Anthony made sure of the three points. 8. Burnley 2-0 Leeds, October 18
After going five games without a win, the pressure was on Burnley to record three points against a fellow newly-promoted side. It turned out to be a similar affair to the Sunderland game, with Parker’s side edging a nervy and even encounter. It was the French connection that won the game for the home side, with Lesley Ugochukwu giving them an early lead before Loum Tchaouan made it 2-0 with a sensational swerving strike from 30 yards.
