Scott Parker’s side enter into 2026 off the back of a ten-game winless streak, which leaves them 19th in the table and six points adrift of safety.
But the year has also brought some incredible highs, with the Clarets securing their place back in the Premier League with yet another automatic promotion from the Championship.
The Clarets finished the season 33 games unbeaten, conceding just 16 goals on their way to a 100-point finish.

In fact, they would have lifted the Championship title if it wasn’t for Leeds United’s dramatic late winner at Plymouth on the final day back in May.
But with 2026 soon among us, we’ve taken a look back at the 10 best moments from Burnley’s last 12 months:

1. Blackburn 0-1 Burnley, January 4
2025 truly kicked off with a bang for Burnley, as they made the short trip down the M65 and came away with another W against that lot. Zian Flemming was the derby hero, heading home from Bashir Humphreys’ cross before hitting his trademark superman pose in front of that jubilant away end. To rub further salt into the wound, he draped the corner flag in a Burnley shirt and paraded it around the pitch during the full-time celebrations, further cementing his status in Clarets folklore. 2. Plymouth 0-5 Burnley, January 22
For a side that had struggled to score goals, this result seemingly came out of nowhere - even if it came against a hapless Plymouth side that propped up the Championship table. In fact, this was the first time Scott Parker had scored more than twice in a game since August. Zian Flemming and Josh Laurent both bagged braces, while Josh Cullen also got in on the act as the Clarets extended their unbeaten run to 16 games in league and cup. Defensively supreme yet again, keeping their 19th clean sheet of the campaign, the Clarets finally showed a ruthless edge to their game at the other end of the pitch. 3. Coventry 1-2 Burnley, April 5
The Clarets back up their reputation as being the Championship’s mentality monsters by coming back from behind to claim a crucial win, despite not being at their best. The visitors went a goal down in controversial circumstances with just six minutes on the clock, but they quickly bounced back through Jaidon Anthony’s equaliser before the winger was gifted a second at the start of the second-half. Burnley were forced to nervously hold on afterwards, but they dug deep and showed plenty of character to extend their unbeaten run to 27 league games. 4. Burnley 2-1 Sheffield United, April 21
Scott Parker’s side clinched their promotion back to the Premier League in arguably the best manner possible, by beating their promotion rivals to get the job done. There seemed an air of inevitability about it too, which made it all the more enjoyable. Even when the Blades levelled through Tom Cannon, you always felt the Clarets were the side in the ascendancy and had the mentality to get the job done. It was no surprise to see both goals coming from Josh Brownhill, who was the man for the big moments, finishing the season with 18. The final whistle sparked wild scenes of celebration, as thousands of supporters sprinted onto the pitch to join the jubilant players, as the club marked yet another promotion back to the top flight.
