Makeup of Burnley's backroom staff revealed after Celestini's first game

The makeup of Fabio Celestini’s Burnley backroom staff has been revealed following his first game in the dugout.

The 51-year-old took charge of Saturday’s goalless draw with Portsmouth at Turf Moor, just a few days on from his appointment.

The Burnley Express reported how the Swiss coach was expected to be joined by at least two members of his backroom staff - and two new faces were spotted alongside Celestini in the dugout against Pompey.

It’s understood those two coaches are Manel Exposito and Carlos Menendez, who both have prior experience of working alongside Celestini.

Exposito, a Spanish coach, was most recently with the new Burnley boss at CSKA Moscow.

Described as a football coach and sports scientist on his Instagram page, the 44-year-old has previously worked for the likes of Chivas, OH Leuven and Udinese, as well as the Belgian FA.

Menendez, meanwhile, is a Spanish fitness coach that worked with Celestini during his time in charge of Basel.

Menendez previously spent nine years with Atletico Madrid, before spending spells with the likes of Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal and Petrolul Ploiesti in Romania.

The pair were joined in the dugout on Saturday by Mike Jackson and Henrik Jensen, as well as goalkeeping coach Kersten Kuhl. Jack Cork, however, wasn’t present.
