Ex-Burnley boss linked as West Ham part ways with Nuno Espirito Santo

West Ham sack Nuno as ex-Burnley boss Scott Parker linked

Former Burnley boss Scott Parker is being lined up to take over at West Ham following their decision to sack Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Hammers have parted ways with the Portuguese coach following the weekend’s 3-1 home defeat to West Brom.

The result leaves West Ham eighth in the Championship table, with six wins from their first 13 games.

“Following a thorough review of the start to the EFL Championship season, the board of directors believe that a change is necessary at this time in order to ensure that the club’s objectives and expectations remain on track,” the Hammers said in a statement.

Parker is set to replace Espirito Santo, according to The Athletic, which will come as no great surprise given his past history with the club as a player, coupled with his track record of winning promotion from the Championship with Burnley, Fulham and Bournemouth.

It’s even claimed the 46-year-old could be in position for Wednesday night’s trip to Cardiff City.

Prior to then, Mark Noble, Steve Potts and Gerard Prenderville will take temporary charge of “squad preparations”.
