Local elections postponed for a year due to coronavirus
May's local and mayoral elections have been postponed for a year due to the coronavirus outbreak, the government has announced.
The announcement comes as the Electoral Commission said on Thursday elections should be delayed until the autumn to "mitigate" the impact of the virus.
Polling on Thursday, May 7th, would also have been carried out to elect the next police and crime commissioner for the region.
