Burnley's Belvedere and Calder Vale Sports Club to host fund raising day in memory of much loved Samantha Duff
A fund raising day is to be held in memory of popular and inspirational Burnley lady, Samantha Duff, who died from breast cancer at the age of just 39 last year.
‘Sam Fest’ will take place at Belvedere and Calder Vale Sports Club on Sunday, August 30. With the tag’ playing for Samantha’ there will be a charity football game and family fun day with plenty of attractions, including live music, inflatables, food, three licensed bars, and a huge raffle with thousands of pounds worth of prizes.
All the money raised will be donated to Breast Cancer NOW, the charity that Sam herself supported.

Much loved Sam, who was an adored wife, daughter, sister, auntie and friend, moved from her native Glasgow to Burnley with her family when she 10. A pupil at the former Walshaw High School, Sam ran a successful business with her husband Chris. She had beaten breast cancer once before, ‘hardly breaking a sweat’ in the process, said her mum.
Doors open at 11am and the football match kicks off at 12-30pm with the band on stage at 6pm. T-shirts in memory of Sam will also be available on the day.
Festival host and club steward Louisa Malatesta said: “Sam would have given anyone her last penny and we want Sam Fest to be as amazing as her.”
