Dance music icon to headline Colne’s Christmas light switch on 2026

Colne Town Council has announced that international dance music sensation DJ Sammy will headline this year’s hugely popular Christmas in Colne event, taking place on Saturday, November 28th 2026.

Known globally for creating some of the biggest dance anthems of the 2000s, the legendary DJ and producer is responsible for a string of unforgettable chart-topping hits, including “Heaven”, “The Boys of Summer”, “Sunlight”, and “Why”. Visitors can look forward to an incredible night filled with nostalgic dance classics, hands-in-the-air anthems, and vibrant festive celebrations right in the heart of Colne.

Starting at 11am, the Colne Christmas Light Switch On will get underway with a fantastic variety of free family activities, fairground rides, a huge Christmas market and a range of live stage entertainment. The popular torch lit procession will turn on phase 1 of the Christmas Lights On, which will be followed by DJ Sammy taking to the stage at approximately 6.15pm before the event comes to a close with the firework extravaganza at 7pm.

Nathan Cutler, Colne Town Council’s Events Officer, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to bring an international music icon like DJ Sammy to Colne for this year’s Christmas Light Switch On. ‘Christmas in Colne’ is always one of the highlights of our town’s calendar, but having a world-renowned artist headline the stage takes the celebrations to a whole new level. We can’t wait to see the high street packed with families, residents, and visitors singing along to iconic dance anthems. We’d also like to extend our huge thanks to Bees Knees Colne for generously sponsoring our 2026 headline act.”

More details of the full event will be announced in the coming weeks, with what promises to be an incredible day of festive fun for the whole family to enjoy right here in Colne Town Centre.
