Firework attack destroys two vehicles in Clitheroe

Police have asked parents in Clitheroe to check where their children were on Wednesday after two vehicles were completely destroyed by fireworks in a “reckless” and “dangerous” incident.

Police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the Walker Street/Taylor Street area at around 9-35pm on Wednesday, September 9th, following reports of youths setting fireworks off at a parked vehicle before running away.

Police said the incident had resulted in a nearby property and road also being damaged, and said an investigation was now under way.

A police spokesperson said: “There is anti-social behaviour and then there is arson endangering lives.”
