Clitheroe Christmas Market offers free pitches to artisan traders
Ribble Valley Borough Council is offering free pitches to around 30 artisan traders at the Clitheroe Christmas Market on Saturday, December 5, in a bid to boost footfall and support local businesses.
Festive artisan traders are being offered a free pitch at a cracker of a Christmas market.

Around 30 stalls are available in the Clitheroe Market bullring on Saturday, December 5, between 9am and 4pm.
Ribble Valley Borough Council is hoping the offer will attract a bumper range of traders and boost footfall.
Ricky Newmark, chairman of the council’s economic development committee, said: “We have created a strong narrative around markets over the years and are delighted to be offering free pitches at this festive market, which will support artisan traders and attract shoppers.
“Markets offer many economic and social benefits, such as encouraging entrepreneurship and civic pride, and fostering a sense of community.
“So if you fancy trying your hand at being a market trader this could be the ideal opportunity. And visitors to the Clitheroe Christmas Market can be assured of top-quality local produce, some quirky items and a warm Ribble Valley welcome.”
Clitheroe has hosted a regular market since the Norman Conquest in the 12th Century and last year was the subject of a £250,000 refurbishment, including new flagging and street furniture, and improvements to the stalls.
It is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, featuring over 80 stalls selling fruit and vegetables, bread and cakes, fish and meat, clothing and lingerie, curtains and fabrics, flowers and electrical goods.
