Burnley van driver's vehicle seized and crushed after fly-tipping

Burnley police have delivered a hard-hitting message to anyone considering illegal fly-tipping, warning of fines, vehicle seizures and prosecution.

A van driver who illegally dumped waste in Burnley paid the price when the vehicle was seized and crushed.

Police worked with Burnley Council’s streetscene enforcement team to take action against the driver. And they delivered a hard hitting message to anyone else who is considering illegal fly tipping.

A spokesman for Burnley police said: “We'll continue taking action against those who blight our communities. Fly-tipping can lead to fines, vehicle seizures and prosecution so the message is, don't dump it, dispose of it legally.”
