Burnley runners invited to take part in latest Couch to 5K
A popular Burnley Couch to 5K group has returned for another 10-week programme aimed at helping local people get active and build up to running five kilometres.
The community-led scheme has been running in Burnley for more than 10 years and is organised and led by people who have previously completed the Couch to 5K themselves.
The latest course began on Tuesday at Barden Track, with sessions also taking place at Queen’s Park on Thursdays and Towneley Park on Saturday mornings.
The Tuesday and Thursday sessions start at 6-30pm, while the Saturday session gets under way at 10am.

The programme gradually builds participants' running ability over the 10 weeks, with members eventually completing a five-kilometre graduation run at Burnley parkrun at the end of the course.
Volunteer leader Katrina Hill is among those helping to run the sessions.
The group has seen a number of participants progress well beyond the original five-kilometre goal over the years, with some going on to complete half marathons and even the London Marathon.
Organisers say the course is led by people who understand the experience of starting out as a beginner, having themselves taken part in Couch to 5K in previous years.
The latest programme provides another opportunity for people in Burnley to take their first steps into running, while joining others on the same journey.
