GlasgowWorld's editor has an extensive background in local journalism. Previously publisher at the Glasgowist online community, he has written popular books including Glasgow's 100 Best Restaurants and the Best of Glasgow city guide and cookbook. After studying at the University of Strathclyde and contributing to the East Kilbride News and The Herald, Paul worked for magazine titles in Dublin for 12 years before returning home to continue his career.
Over the last eight years he has had a prolific output as a food and drink writer and regular commentator on city life, including offering insight for STV, BBC Scotland and CNN. As a travel writer he has created content for brands including Skyscanner, Orbitz, Trivago and Expedia. He has interviewed personalities including Kate Dickie, Irvine Welsh, Carl Cox, Peter Capaldi and Fran Healy.
He established Best of Scotland magazine with The Herald on Sunday in 2020 and spent two years as a weekly columnist for the Glasgow Times. In February 2022, Paul was appointed to lead the team of reporters and video journalists at GlasgowWorld, part of NationalWorld's successful network of city websites. His interests and specialisms include profile interviews, music features, art and the history of Glasgow's nightlife. Paul leads the food and drink coverage for the website.
