Barry Steele's Roy Orbison Story – The Platinum Years celebrates Orbison’s life and music while also paying tribute to the legendary Traveling Wilburys, featuring the music of George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty.

For over 20 years, Barry Steele has built a reputation as one of Britain's foremost interpreters of Roy Orbison's music, earning standing ovations throughout the UK and Europe.

Described by The Stage magazine as ‘True identikit brilliance", the audience will enjoy classics including Oh, Pretty Woman, Crying, Only the Lonely, In Dreams, You Got It, California Blue, Handle With Care, End of the Line, Roll Over Beethoven and many more.

The second half of the show celebrates Orbison's place within one of music's greatest supergroups, The Traveling Wilburys.

Orbison helped the Wilburys create a collection of songs that remain amongst the most loved recordings in rock history and which provide a rousing finale that regularly brings audiences to their feet.

Along the way, the production also honours artists closely associated with Orbison, including beautifully performed classics from Chris Isaak and other musical influences that complement the evening's journey through rock and roll history.

Barry Steele's Roy Orbison Story – The Platinum Years is coming to The Mechanics Theatre on Thursday, September 24. For ticket information visit the theatre’s website.
