PLAYER RATINGS: Burnley v Arsenal
Martin Odegaard's sumptuous set-piece on the half-hour separated the sides and inflicted a fourth defeat from five on the Clarets.
The Norwegian international swept a free-kick beyond Nick Pope's reach after Ashley Westwood had upended Bukayo Saka on the edge of the box.
Burnley were much better after the break with the introductions of debutant Maxwel Cornet and Matej Vydra giving the hosts a shot in the arm.
The latter thought he'd won his side a penalty when going to ground under Aaron Ramsdale's challenge.
However, following the Gunners' protestations, referee Anthony Taylor overturned the decision after checking his monitor.
Cornet also made his mark, giving the home support a significant lift, and he also marked his first appearance for the club with a goal.
The ball broke for the Ivorian inside the penalty area, but Ramsdale turned the attempt over the crossbar.
Dwight McNeil then fired into the side-netting and substitute Jay Rodriguez headed over in a late flurry for the Clarets.
Here are the ratings.

5. Ben Mee 6
Stood his ground on the edge of his own penalty area, forcing Arsenal into the wide areas, then winning the ball from resulting crosses. Calm on the ball, good in the air, unmoved by Aubameyang's presence. Solid display.

6. Johann Berg Gudmundsson 5
Couldn't quite get it right with his deliveries into the box against the Gunners. The volume of crosses provided was promising, though majority lacked accuracy. Tracked back well, saw a second half shot blocked, then made way for Cornet.

7. Dwight McNeil 5
A frustrating afternoon for the 21-year-old. Struggled to get the better of Tomiyasu and was similarly restricted when switching flanks and going up against Tierney. Tried doing too much on the ball, opting to go alone, and often running into trouble.

8. Josh Brownhill 5.5
The midfielder's second half display alongside Westwood forced Arteta to make changes as the Clarets gained control in midfield. Used the ball sensibly in the first half and battled well off the ball after the break. Never stopped running.
