Despite holding the visitors to a goal-less first half at Turf Moor, Thomas Tuchel’s side were ruthless after the break.
The Carabao Cup runners-up netted three times in eight minutes with Kai Havertz’s double adding to Reece James’ 47th minute opener.
Christian Pulisic then compounded the Clarets’ misery when adding a fourth goal in the 55th minute .

5. Nathan Collins 4.5
Positive showing in the first half as he got a foot or his head to anything the visitors put into the box. The Republic of Ireland defender also threatened at the other end when powering a header over from McNeil's set-piece. However, was part of a disjointed defence in the second half as he was continuously pulled out of position by Chelsea's movement across the front. Photo: Lewis Storey

6. Aaron Lennon 5
A real threat in the first half as he drove at Rudiger while making successful advances into the area on a number of occasions. The ex-England international did well to pick out Weghorst for one of Burnley's best chances of the game. Worked hard against the ball to make life hard for Pulisic and Saul Niguez, but tired as the game wore on. Photo: Mike Hewitt

7. Dwight McNeil 4
Not at the races against the Blues, despite bursting out of the blocks. Energetic on and off the ball in the first quarter, but quickly dropped off, and he eventually felt the wrath of the crowd. Confidence took a huge knock when squandering a chance with the goal gaping, then failed to pick out Lennon inside the six yard box. The winger was then turned inside out by James for the opening goal. Photo: Alex Livesey

8. Josh Brownhill 4
Tried his best, but couldn't match the energy or athleticism of Kante in the middle of the park. Recovered the ball well in the few successes that he had in that department, but pulled over the park as Chelsea moved the ball with pace and purpose. Ran himself into the ground, though had very little to show for his efforts. Photo: OLI SCARFF
