PLAYER RATINGS: Burnley 1 Norwich City 2
Former Blackburn Rovers defender Grant Hanley scored his first goal in more than a year when heading past Joe Hart to give the Canaries the lead. Josip Drmic then doubled the advantage from close range after Hart had denied Lukas Rupp. Dutch full back Erik Pieters added to his tally in the competition when beating Ralf Fahrmann at his near post, but the hosts couldn't find the equaliser to force a replay.

1. Erik Pieters 6
Similarly to Lowton, the Dutchman was outnumbered down his side of the pitch as the Canaries continued to get in behind. The full back too his goal exceptionally well, however, to get the Clarets back into the tie.

2. Kevin Long 5
Showed good strength when battling for the ball, but he lost the aerial battle with Hanley when the visitors opened the scoring and was nowhere to be seen when City made it 2-0.

3. Aaron Lennon 6
Ran at Jamal all afternoon in an attempt to get Burnley on the front foot and was direct in position when collecting the ball centrally. Played a big part in the home side's goal.

4. Robbie Brady 5
Never really got into the tie against his former club. Failed to find feet too often and struggled to provide the protection Pieters required. However, went close to giving the Clarets the lead in the first half.
