The charity's ambassador has already hit six Premier League goals this season but the Clarets forward has now set his sights on other targets - all for an exceptionally good cause.

The one-time England international, who also netted in cup ties against Sunderland and Peterborough United, is holding a raffle with three items of memorabilia up for grabs.

A signed shirt and match-worn boots from the 1-0 win against Watford at Turf Moor - the fixture that saw Rodriguez score his 50th career goal for Burnley - will be part of the prize.

"It's something I thought could be good for Burnley fans, or anybody really, because they're not getting that matchday experience," he said.

"It's a good chance to raise some money and awareness to keep helping Pendleside. It's doing really well and I'm really thankful to the people who have already donated.

"It's such a good cause so anything is greatly appreciated by everyone at Pendleside.

"It's definitely a nice thing for it to be from that game. It was good to get the win and it was one we were really proud of. It's nice that the shirts and boots are from that game."

Rodriguez is also going to throw in a mystery prize for the lucky winner. To enter the draw simply donate an amount between £3 and £10 at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jay-rodriguez by July 26th.

"There's a mystery prize as well so I'm hoping it's something that they like," added Rodriguez.

"I think they'll have a laugh with it, I know I will. It's something that's a bit of fun and something that I'm looking forward to myself. It's going to remain a mystery prize so it will be interesting to see."

Rodriguez, 30, is fiercely proud of his association with Pendleside, who cared for his grandad, Brian Threlfall, during the final days of his life.

And he's vowed to do whatever he can to continue to raise awareness and show his support.

Rodriguez said: "Any exposure or awareness for Pendleside I can raise I'm all for it. I've known of it having grown up in the area and knowing friends and family members who have been through it.

"It's something close to my heart and I can't thank the people who work there and are behind it enough because the work they do is unbelievable.

"They make a really tough situation - one of the toughest you could possibly face as a family - as positive as it can be. You feel really cared for and looked after.

"It's an awful time, but we can't speak highly enough of them. They offer so much love because they know you're going through a tough time.

"I thought they were brilliant and every single person I met there just made everyone feel so welcome. Friends and family who I speak to all say the same thing."

He added: "I've always said to them if I can help in any way I always will do. I was a bit surprised when they asked me [to become an ambassador].

"As soon as they asked me I told them that I'd love to do it. I just hope I can help and raise awareness.

"When they asked me to be an ambassador I was really proud and excited to work alongside them. It's been really good.

"I was away in Birmingham at the time so it's a lot easier now that I'm back home. It's really good to be a part of it."
