What’s the latest team news?

Burnley’s selection crisis could be eased a little with the return of Hannibal and Lyle Foster, whose respective nations were both knocked out of AFCON.

Hannibal has already returned to training on Tuesday, but a late call will be made on Foster’s availability as he only landed back in the UK last night.

Axel Tuanzebe remains unavailable after DR Congo only played their knockout tie against Algeria last night.

A late decision will also be made on Maxime Esteve, who is back in training after missing the weekend’s defeat to Brighton.

The defender hobbled off after just 15 minutes against Newcastle last week having suffered a recurrence of the knock that saw him miss back-to-back games against Bournemouth and Everton.

Joe Worrall, Mike Tresor and Zian Flemming have been ruled out, while Jordan Beyer, Connor Roberts, Josh Cullen and Zeki Amdouni are all long-term injury concerns.

As for United, former boss Ruben Amorim hinted at the weekend that Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount could both return, but the Red Devils remain without a host of other names.

Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire and Kobbie Mainoo are all out injured, while Noussair Mazraoui, Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbuemo all remain away at AFCON.

Scott Parker’s pre-match comments

“We're looking forward to this game. One, due to the magnitude of it, of course. Two, because of the current situation we're in, this is the next game that we can try and change that cycle of what we're currently in and then thirdly, is the reaction what we need to bring on Wednesday night to correct the wrongs from the weekend.”
