What Nicky Hayen said about Zian Flemming’s Burnley future amid Ipswich Town links
Burnley face big fight to keep hold of Zian Flemming
Burnley face a big fight to keep hold of star man Zian Flemming ahead of Tuesday night’s 11pm deadline.
Speculation surrounding the Dutchman’s future has dominated much of this summer’s transfer window, but it appears to be going right down to the very wire.
According to transfer journalist Pete O’Rourke, Premier League side Ipswich Town have tabled a bid for the 28-year-old.
talkSPORT’s Ben Jacobs, meanwhile, claims Burnley and the Tractor Boys are now in advanced talks over a potential move, with Flemming keen on a return to the top flight.
Ligue 1 outfit Lille have previously been linked and their transfer kitty has recently been boosted by the £81m sale of midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi to Manchester City. But it now appears they’re set to sign Feyenoord’s Ayase Ueda.
Previously, Brentford, Coventry City and Leeds United have all been credited with interest in Flemming, who bagged 11 goals in 29 appearances in the Premier League last season as Burnley suffered relegation.

He’s since started this campaign with three goals in league and cup.
Burnley boss Nicky Hayen has consistently spoken of his desire to keep Flemming at Turf Moor beyond Tuesday night’s deadline.
But he’s also been open and honest with supporters that Flemming has a desire to play in the Premier League again and a move would be sanctioned if the club’s valuation was met.
When asked for the latest on Flemming’s future following Saturday’s game at Norwich City, Hayen said: “The same as what you're thinking now. At the moment, there's no bid that suits the value of Zian.
“But also if there's tomorrow an offer that we cannot refuse, it's really difficult to keep him, but as long as that's not happening, he's here.
“To be fair, you saw the way Zian performed when the transfer will not be done. He will be here with his head for 100 per cent, and that's the character of Zian.”
