Burnley winger becomes latest player to depart in German loan switch
Oluwaseun Adewumi seals loan move to Germany
Burnley’s Oluwaseun Adewumi has become the latest player to leave the club by joining German side Hertha Berlin on loan.
The 21-year-old will spend the season with the 2. Bundesliga outfit, in what will be his third loan spell away from Turf Moor.
The forward spent last season in Belgium with Cercle Brugge, scoring five times in 32 appearances.
He also boasted an identical record the previous season playing north of the border in Scotland with Dundee.
A 2025 signing from Austrian side Floridsdorfer AC, Adewumi has yet to make a competitive outing for the Clarets.
He did recently score in the 1-1 friendly draw against Columbus Crew as part of Burnley’s US pre-season tour.
Adewumi joins Maxime Esteve, Quilindschy Hartman, Lesley Ugochukwu, Jaidon Anthony and Loum Tchaouna in departing the club this summer following last season’s relegation.
Martin Dubravka and Vaclav Hladky also departed at the end of their contracts, while Axel Tuanzebe and Ashley Barnes are now officially free agents. Hull were also previously linked with a free transfer for Tuanzebe.
Lluc Castell, a 19-year-old winger from Espanyol, is the only player to have signed for the club to date.
