It was a case of further self-inflicted pain as Burnley fell to defeat at home to Wolves last night.
The Clarets gifted the visitors both of their goals as Nicky Hayen’s side poor start to the season continued with a 2-1 defeat.
Not only that, it meant that - by the next time Burnley return to action at Turf Moor - an entire year will have passed since their last three points at home.
It prompted angry scenes from the terraces, while even more pressure begins to grow on Nicky Hayen.
Here’s how Burnley’s players rated:
13. SUB: Armando Broja - 5/10
For Vardy, 62 On his heels and waiting for the ball, rather than being proactive. Rattled the bar from close range, although the flag was raised for offside in any case. | Kelvin Lister-Stuttard
14. SUB: Marcus Edwards - 5/10
For Hatate, 75 Struggled to get things going in an attacking sense and didn’t have any great desire to carry out his defensive duties. | Kelvin Lister-Stuttard
15. SUB: Ugo Raghouber - 6/10
For Alleyne, 87 Had no time to impact the game either way. | Kelvin Lister-Stuttard
