It was a case of further self-inflicted pain as Burnley fell to defeat at home to Wolves last night.
The Clarets gifted the visitors both of their goals as Nicky Hayen’s side poor start to the season continued with a 2-1 defeat.
Not only that, it meant that - by the next time Burnley return to action at Turf Moor - an entire year will have passed since their last three points at home.
It prompted angry scenes from the terraces, while even more pressure begins to grow on Nicky Hayen.
Here’s how Burnley’s players rated:
9. Largie Ramazani - 5/10
Not his night. Tried to make things happen but too often took too long in releasing the final, with his decision-making found wanting. | Kelvin Lister-Stuttard
10. Jacob Bruun Larsen - 6/10
Claimed the assist for Vardy’s goal with a clever ball through, but squandered a big chance at the start of the second half. Tired a little. | Kelvin Lister-Stuttard
11. Jamie Vardy - 7/10
A trademark finish for his first Burnley goal, firing across the goalkeeper and into the far corner. Denied just before by a strong hand. | Kelvin Lister-Stuttard
12. SUB: Dastan Satpayev - 6/10
For Bruun Larsen, 62 Tried to make things happen but to no avail, on his return to the side after being rested in midweek at Chelsea’s behest. | Kelvin Lister-Stuttard
