Burnley man completes move to Turkish giants in initial £3m loan deal

Lesley Ugochukwu completes initial loan move to Turkish giants

Lesley Ugochukwu has completed his move from Burnley to Galatasaray in an initial loan deal.

The 22-year-old will spend the season on loan in Turkey, where his new club will pay the Clarets a £3m loan fee.

Galatasaray are also obligated to make the move permanent at the end of the season for £22.5m.

Ugochukwu only made the move to Burnley last summer from Chelsea and made 33 appearances in all competitions last summer, scoring three times.

The Frenchman suffered his second consecutive relegation from the Premier League, having previously spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Southampton.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the defender was due to travel for a medical today before completing a £27m move

Esteve and Ugochukwu join Quilindschy Hartman (Espanyol on loan), Jaidon Anthony (Brentford) and Loum Tchaouna (Coventry City) in departing this summer.

Martin Dubravka and Vaclav Hladky have also moved on at the end of their contracts, while Axel Tuanzebe and Ashley Barnes are both now officially free agents.

The Clarets made Espanyol winger Lluc Castell their first signing of the summer on Sunday.
