Burnley injury state of play ahead of Swansea City as Bruun Larsen absent again

Nicky Hayen provides team news update ahead of Swansea

Burnley will be without Jacob Bruun Larsen for a second straight game when they travel to Swansea City tomorrow.

The winger was forced to miss the midweek trip to Wrexham after feeling some pain under his heel during training.

Nicky Hayen had hoped it was only a minor issue and wouldn’t require an extended period of absence, but the Clarets boss - speaking today - confirmed the Danish international wouldn’t be available to face Swansea on Saturday.

“Jacob is still injured,” he confirmed. “So he tried today, but unfortunately he couldn’t get fit.”

Elsewhere, Anel Ahmedhodzic is feeling better, but is still feeling the effects of a bout of illness.

He was due to start at Wrexham, but was relegated to the bench due to the issue.

“He is better,” Hayen added. “So he's still feeling not 100 per cent, but we still have today and tomorrow, so we'll see how he evolves.

“For the rest, it's essentially the same squad, except Jamie Vardy comes into the squad.”

Vardy, who had to serve a one-match suspension at Wrexham, is not fit enough to start in South Wales though, due to his lack of a pre-season.

Elsewhere, Hayen also confirmed Aaron Ramsey is fine despite the midfielder appearing to come off with an issue in midweek.

“He will be fit,” he said. “He had cramp and it's normal if you didn't play a lot for almost one year.

“But again, everyone is improving and every player is also working hard to come back as quickly as possible. But you cannot increase some things.

“Some things need time, but we're working hard on it.”

Dastan Satpayev, meanwhile, continues to recover from his hamstring injury at Burnley, contrary to reports that he had been sent back to parent club Chelsea.

“He will be back in the international break, so he's here,” Hayen said.

“Someone from Chelsea was here in communication with our medical staff, so together they prepared the best treatment and programme for Dastan to come back as soon as possible, but it will be the international break.”

Josh Cullen, Hannibal, Enock Agyei and Jaydon Banel all remain sidelined.

Ben Amos, Jordan Beyer, Bashir Humphreys, Shurandy Sambo, Marcus Edwards, Mike Tresor, Ashley Barnes and Michael Obafemi are also unavailable, having been left out of Burnley’s 25-man squad list.
