Burnley FC transfer news: Clarets suffer blow in striker pursuit, Aston Villa express interest in Championship forward

Burnley managed a narrow 1-0 win over Shrewsbury Town in the Carabao Cup yesterday, with Samuel Bastien scoring his first goal for the club.

The Clarets will now go into the third round draw which takes place today following the clash between Tranmere Rovers v Newcastle United - predicted to be around 9:45pm.
