Burnley FC in the Community nominated for two Northwest Football Awards

Burnley FC in the Community has been nominated for two prestigious awards at the forthcoming Northwest Football Awards 2015 in November.

The Clarets’ official charity are finalists in both the Community Club of the Year – Premier League category and the Community Initiative of the Year category, for the Danny Ings Disability Sports Project.

Neil Hart, Chief Executive Officer of Burnley FC in the Community said: “We are delighted that as a charity, we have been nominated for these fantastic awards.

“The past 18 months have seen unprecedented growth in the department and we’re proud of the positive impact we are making in our community.

“To be shortlisted as a finalist in these two categories is real recognition of the hard work, commitment and drive of the staff, the trustees, our volunteers and our supporters alike.”

Burnley FC in the Community is a self-financing, registered charity that currently delivers over 30 projects in Burnley and the surrounding areas. The charity is firmly embedded within Burnley FC and is proud of its strong links with the club.

Burnley Football Club has also been recognised at this year’s glitzy ceremony, with skipper Tom Heaton currently in the running for Barclays Premier League Player of the Year.

The Northwest Football Awards 2015 will be hosted on Monday 16th November at Emirates Old Trafford, Lancashire County Cricket Club.
