Burnley boss looking to end any relegation doubt
Clarets boss Sean Dyche is eager to mathematically confirm Burnley’s Championship status as soon as possible so he can formulate his plans for the summer.
Burnley will stave off any relegation worries on the last day if they win at Wolves tomorrow, or if any two of Barnsley, Peterborough or Wolves fail to pick up three points.
The earlier Dyche can set the ball rolling over his summer recruitment drive, the better, and he said: “We want it sorting out as soon as possible so we can start planningin earnest for next season.
“You’ve got to have that mindset.
“But you can’t guarantee anything in the Championship this season.
“It’s well-documented that it’s been an amazing year.
“We’ll go hard again, as we do every game, to try and get the win at Wolves, and next week against Ipswich, even if we’re safe.”
Burnley go into the game in good spirits after David Edgar’s late header earned a 1-1 draw against champions Cardiff City at Turf Moor last Saturday: “It added to the beliefe of the group - we believe in going to the end in games.
“At Watford we kept going and against Cardiff, and we got our reward.
“We wanted to put that into the team, even when we don’t play as well as we want to, like at Leeds last week.”
