Xercise4Less in Burnley has teamed up with the Movember Foundation to raise fund and awareness for men's health.

The award-winning, national gym operator will be donating £1 for each new member that joins any of their 43 gyms throughout the month of November as it teams up with the Movember Foundation, which raises funds to deliver innovative, breakthrough research and support programmes that enable men to live happier, healthier, and longer lives.

Members are also being encouraged to “Move for Movember” and can take part in dedicated classes every weekend wearing their Mo, with the chance to bring along a friend if a donation is made. The move challenge is to do anything active: run a race, learn to rock climb, work out in costume, try something new, beat your own personal best, and ultimately raise funds for men's health.

On Monday, 21st November there will be a three-hour MoRun in the gym, with a Movember Cup being awarded for the most miles run in the three hours. The participants of the club who run the most miles will go in to a prize draw to win a prize fitness bundle donated from Movember .

Saturday, 26th November will see Xercise4Less’ popular 'Xercise4Kids' offering turned into a MoKids class, where parents with children aged between three and five will be provided with a stick on Mo for their little ones to join in the fun.

On average, men die four years younger than women in the UK, for reasons that are largely preventable. More than 10,500 men with prostate cancer will die in the UK in 2016. Additionally, 78% of UK suicides are men - 13 men a day - the Movember campaign seeks to change this.

Laura Mair, Director of Partnerships at The Movember Foundation, added: "We’re excited about working with Xercise4Less and getting people moving for men’s health around the country. Our goal is to stop men dying too young, and in order to achieve this we need more men aware of the risks that they face and to take action when there’s an issue.

"Xercise4Less has created a really fun way to share this important message involving both Mo Bros & Mo Sistas in their campaign, and we encourage all their members to sign up on Movember.com and get involved at their local Xercise4Less club.”
