Volunteers Week was celebrated in Nelson today when the Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale CVS staged their annual event.

A dozen local community groups joined the CVS to highlight the value of volunteers to their organisations.

The event was officially opened by the Deputy Mayor of Pendle Coun. Graham Roach.

A similar event will take place in Burnley town centre tomorrow between 10am and 1pm.
