Calico Homes finishes £10m. housing development in Padiham
Calico Homes has completed the final phase of a £10m. project to create a total of 67 new affordable homes in Padiham.
Phase three of the Station Road development began in August 2019 and was finalised last week, marking the completion of the wider project as Calico Homes welcomed new residents into their homes.
This last phase has provided an additional 26 affordable homes, consisting of a mix of three and two-bedroom houses along with two and one-bed ground floor cottage flats.
Work on the Station Road development began in 2018 and was welcomed by nearby residents keen to see the formerly derelict land put to good use.
Calico Homes has also worked with Padiham Primary School throughout the development to help ease traffic congestion at the school gates.
They funded and created a woodland path, with input from the pupils, to develop a green route to the school for nearby families to use.
They have invested £10,235,647 into the Station Road development, with £2,772,000 of this provided through funding granted by Homes England.
New residents Mr and Mrs Rigby said: “We have just received the keys to our beautiful new apartment in Padiham and want to thank the team at Calico Homes for all the help and assistance they have given us.
"I know we will be really happy here. Thanks again Calico!”
Mark Beach, managing director at Calico Homes, said: “By completing this development, Calico Homes has now provided even more affordable homes in the area and I wish all of our residents at Station Road the best in their new homes.
"Over the next 12 months, we will continue to deliver new homes and finalise plans detailing how we will invest in our existing homes over the next five years.”
