Burnley's Reel Cinema will re-open its doors for the first time tomorrow since it was forced to close in March due to Covid 19.

Social distancing measures will be in place at the complex in Manchester Road and staff have been fully trained in Covid 19 safety rules and will be wearing full PPE.

The hours of opening at the cinema have been reduced during the week but remain the same at the weekend but filmgoers must book online.

Manager Andy White said: "I would like to stress that all bookings must be made online.

"If someone turns up and they haven't booked tickets I'm afraid they won't be allowed in as we are trying to reduce the touch points within the cinema as much as possible.

"We are not accepting bookings over the phone but we can answer any inquiries."

In line with social distancing measures seats will be allocated with an automatic protective 'bubble' around them but couples or a family of four who book tickets will be given seats together.

Andy added: "People will find that they may have a selection of empty seats around them to follow social distancing rules so we would ask that they remain in their allocated seats.

"Anyone who ignores this will be asked to leave the premises."

Drinks and food can also be purchased online but there will be a reduced service inside the complex.

While major film releases have been pushed back Reel will be looking to show a selection of classics and The Dark Knight Trilogy and The Empire Strikes Back are already scheduled.

Andy added: "We are looking forward to re-opening and welcoming the public back and we ask that they bear with us during these unprecendented times."
