Review: Does this 'restorative' facial I experienced at the expert hands of Carrie Hill at Restore Her Wellness live up to its promises?

Beauty treatments are often seen as luxuries.

But, after having experienced my first restorative facial, I have to say the health benefits of this treatment cannot be underestimated.

I was invited to try a restorative facial massage experience that Carrie specialises in. And I have to say it does what it says on the tin!

Combining a facial and massage using essential oils, and natural active ingredients, Carrie uses only her hands to restore, rebalance and bring you back home to yourself. The facial includes lift and sculpt techniques on the face and also massage on the head, neck and shoulders. It was not only relaxing but rejuvenating at the same time. I could feel the tension that had built up in my neck and shoulders just melting away.

Restorative facials calm the nervous system and leave you feeling calmer, clearer and grounded from the inside out. And my skin was glowing.

Working from a purpose built salon at her Burnley home, Carrie is so welcoming and friendly, she puts you immediately at ease. And she is clearly passionate about her work, which she sees as a calling.

She said: “I am very passionate about supporting women in midlife to help empower them to advocate for their future health, happiness and wellbeing. Both sides of my work, the hands on and coaching are deeply connected. Ultimately, I'm all about helping women feel and become the best version of themselves.”

A former teaching assistant, Carrie began working for a skincare company as a hobby but she loved it so much, she decided to take a leap of faith and launch her own business. Her treatments are holistic, therapeutic and deeply connected to each individual client helping to release stress and tension that women are holding in their bodies.

Last year Carrie hosted her first event to raise awareness, provide education and help women to better understand menopause, that is often seen as ‘taboo.’ The ‘transformational afternoon’ SHE THRIVES LIVE 25 at The Lawrence Hotel in Padiham was a great success and cemented Carrie’s status in the profession she is so devoted to.
