I can’t condone MP’s behaviour

I am writing to endorse the views of Mrs Crawley, of Clitheroe, regarding Nigel Evans’ behaviour; the man does not seem to think he’s done anything wrong.

All right, he has been acquitted of rape, but was morally wrong in his dealings with the young men he worked with, at least in how he treated them. As Mrs Crawley stated, in any other workplace he would have been dismissed.

Working with women, he might have been classed as a “dirty old man”. A certain lord in the party is having to apologise to four of his lady colleagues and might have to resign.

We cannot vote for Nigel Evans again, if he stands for election, as that is declaring we condone his behaviour.

Mr Evans had a view this week that the low turnout for the recent elections would be improved if four days were given to vote. Your paper does not seem to have covered the results. I have read all pages and don’t seem to find them.

I, for one, will not vote for Nigel Evans if he stands again, my choice I know.

Mrs Tomlinson,

Clitheroe

Editor’s note: We did not publish the results of the European Parliamentary elcections as these were for the whole of the North West region and were widely publicised in regional and national media several days prior to our publication date. There were no local council elections in Ribble Valley this year.
