1,000 new homes will be too much for town’s infrastructure

Your front page article on November 14th about the Henthorn Road development referred to Clitheroe Town Council’s objections and adverse comments from Allan Knox and Ian Brown.

They refer to the lack of school places, infrastructure and health services as well as specific traffic problems created by building at “the end of a cul-de-sac”.

If we are concerned about that, 400 homes will be too much for Clitheroe’s infrastructure, school and health services, how can any rational council believe an additional 1,000+ homes on the “Standen Estate” is a viable idea?
