Work by painter and fine art restorer Mr Leyden is on show and features portraits and works influenced by old masters.

Staff at the hall organised an opening event to mark Mr Leyden’s achievements. Guests included the Mayor of Burnley and the High Sheriff of Lancashire Amanda Parker with Robert Parker from Browsholme Hall,

Now living in Blackburn, Mr Leyden went to school in Burnley and developed his artistic skills at the Burnley Art School with the support of a grant from Stocks

Massey Trust. He had his first exhibition at the invitation of Lady Rachel Shuttleworth at her home, Gawthorpe Hall.

The current exhibition is a taster for a much larger event in the Stocks Massey gallery at Towneley next year. The hall is open from 12-5pm Saturday to Thursday and closed on Fridays, except during school holidays.

Entry is free for children, students and Burnley residents. Non-Burnley residents are asked to pay £4.
