Woman hit by train identified
A 29-year-old Langho woman who was killed when she was hit by a train last Sunday evening has been identified as Lisa Loughney, a former pupil of St Augustine’s RC High School.
Emergency services including Lancashire police, paramedics and the British Transport Police were called to the scene near Langho railway station at 6 pm on Sunday, soon after the incident had occurred.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: “The incident involved the 5-40 pm train service from Clitheroe to Manchester Oxford Road. Cancellations to rail services between Clitheroe and Blackburn were made after the incident.
An inquest will open tomorrow, Thursday, February 13th.
