The ex-Coronation Street star, who left the cobbles last year, was thrilled to see the soap pick up the gong for Best Serial Drama and actress Julie Hesmondhalgh (better known as Coronation Street’s Hayley Cropper) win the prize for Best Serial Drama Performance.

She was also delighted with news that Strictly Come Dancing 2013, in which she was runner-up, beat rival programme X Factor to the title of Best Talent Show.
