Huge blaze rips through Simonstone house
FLAMES dominated the Simonstone skyline after a huge blaze engulfed a house in the village last night.
Four crews raced to the detached property in Whins Lane at 8-30pm after receiving a call saying the chimney was on fire.
Firefighters had to use an aerial ladder platform as they battled against strong winds for four hours trying to bring the flames under control.
The family was out of the house by the time the first appliance arrived and fortunately nobody was injured.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
