Nelson and Colne College student Jack Lofthouse (17) is devastated following the theft of the bike which was given to him as a birthday present from his parents.

The red and white Generic TR 125, registration YY63 OSD, was stolen between 4-30pm and 5pm from outside a barber’s shop in St Cuthbert’s Street, just off Briercliffe Road, on Tuesday.

Jack said: “I’m really upset. My parents worked their socks to buy me the bike. It doesn’t seem right that someone has just come along and stolen it. I’ve only had it since September.”

Anyone with information can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555 111.
