The event was organised by Jamie Holgate and a group of close friends, bringing together players, families, volunteers, local businesses and supporters for a fantastic day of cricket, fundraising and community spirit.

The organisers chose to support Andy’s Man Club because they know that many men still find it difficult to talk about their mental health and wanted to help break that stigma.

Jamie Holgate said: “As a group of mates, we all know that men can struggle to talk about what they’re going through. We wanted to do something that not only raised money but also raised awareness that it’s okay to speak up and ask for support.

Raising £1,500 is something we’re incredibly proud of, but what made the day special was seeing so many people come together for such an important cause. We’d like to thank everyone who played, donated, volunteered, sponsored the event and came along to support us. The generosity of our community has been amazing.”

Holgate also thanked Earby Cricket Club for hosting the event and helping make the day such a success.

Andy’s Man Club provides free peer-to-peer support groups for men across the UK under the message “It’s Okay to Talk.” The organisers hope to make the charity cricket match an annual event, raising even more money and awareness for men’s mental health in the years to come.
