Burnley schoolboy completes nine-mile bike ride for charity

Lukas Hoyle, an eight-year-old from Burnley, cycled nine miles for charity to help his best friend Jaxon, who is battling bone cancer, and has so far raised £1,305.

A Burnley schoolboy received a hero’s welcome after completing a nine mile bike ride for charity.

Lukas Hoyle cycled from Turf Moor to Todmorden and so far has raised £1,305 for Bone Cancer Research.

The eight-year-old, who was joined by his dad Nick on the ride, was overcome with emotion when he completed the challenge at the weekend.

Lukas’ inspiration is his best pal Jaxon who has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma. Jaxon lives in Todmorden with his family.

Best pals since they were born, Lukas, who lives in Cliviger, and Jaxon spend most of their days playing Roblox together over Facetime when they can’t be together in person. Constantly laughing and having fun when they are together the pair have formed a special bond.

But now, with Jaxon facing the challenge of his illness, Lukas decided he wanted to do something to help his best friend.

Lukas hopes to get to the £2,000 fundraising target set and anyone who wishes to make a donation is asked to search riding for Jaxon on the justgiving platform
