Connor Watkinson (21), of Queen Victoria Road, Burnley will make his first appearance at Burnley Magistrates Court tomorrow morning (Saturday, March 4th) charged with the attempted murder of a 27-year-old man, as well as the wounding and false imprisonment of a 34-year-old woman and the assault of a woman aged 48.

Officers were called at 6-50am on Wednesday morning (March 1st) by the 34 year old woman to say she had been seriously assaulted at an address on Comrie Cescent in the town.

She had suffered serious facial and neck injuries.

At shortly before 6am yesterday (Thursday, March 2nd) we were contacted about another incident which happened overnight at an address on Smith Street.

On arrival, officers found a 27-year-old man in the kitchen with serious facial injuries and possible knife wounds. A woman, 48, had also been attacked. The victims remain in hospital where they are recovering from their injuries.

Detectives are continuing their appeal for anyone with information, in particular anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Comrie Crescent area between 2pm on Tuesday (February 28th) and 6.30am on Wednesday (March 1st).

In relation to the further incidents, officers are also appealing for any witnesses around the Coal Clough Lane, Trafalgar Street or Smith Street areas from around midnight to 7am on Thursday (March 2).
