Couple unveil 'evil circus' Hallowe'en display at their home in Burnley

A couple have transformed their Burnley home into an ‘evil circus’ for Hallowe’en.
Well known for going all out on the scariest night of the year at their home in Alnwick Close, this year is no exception for Steve and Kath Birch.
Scary clowns and skeletons, including a ‘naughty’ one with a can of beer, in the amazing circus display at the house, have already been drawing dozens of visitors in the lead up to October 31.
The couple, who own their own business One Stop Refurbs, have been transforming their home on key dates since lockdown, including Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day and Remembrance Sunday.
Last year the theme of their Hallowe’en display was witches, complete with a ‘boiling’ cauldron and a witch who chatted back to visitors thanks to Steve’s PA system.
Steve said: “The neighbours love it. It’s nice to do something a bit different and bring some fun and laughs when the world seems to be full of bad news all the time.”
This year the couple are raising money for Pendleside Hospice and visitors to their Hallowe’en display will be able to donate using a QR code.
On Hallowe’en Kath will dress as a ringmaster and Steve will become an inflatable clown between 6pm and 9pm when hundreds of ‘trick or treaters’ are expected to descend.
The Birches are stocked up with sweets, but it just depends if visitors are brave enough to venture into the ‘evil circus’ to claim them.
