Bridges built at newcomers comp
Brierfield Bridge Club held its annual Newcomers Competition on Monday August 8th, attracting a passionate swathe of the game's keen rookies.
The competition, which was open to any member of the club who has been playing bridge for less than five years, was attended by 30 people and eventually won by overall victors Linda Turner and Peter Banks, with David Luffrun and David Walton finishing as runners-up.
Founded in 1981, the club will start lessons again in September and will hold and open day on Saturday August 20th.
